Weekend Inspiration: Havana Cake

Ingredients:

150 g roasted ground hazelnuts

150 g ground hazelnut-flavored wafers

500 g mascarpone cheese

500 ml whipping cream

70 g powdered sugar

200 g cooking chocolate

6 tablespoons of oil

Mix the ground hazelnuts and wafers. Chop the chocolate, pour the oil over it, and melt them together — either in the microwave or over a bain-marie. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, whipping cream, and powdered sugar, and beat with a mixer until smooth and creamy. In a 24 cm cake tin, spread a portion of the hazelnut and wafer mixture to form the base. Add a layer of the cream mixture, then sprinkle with more hazelnuts and wafers, and drizzle with melted chocolate. Repeat the layers until all three mixtures are used up. Place the cake in the fridge for several hours to set.
