Weekend Inspiration for Beef in Vegetable Sauce with Polenta
Ingredients
• 700 g beef round
• polenta
• 1 red onion
• 2 carrots
• 1 bell pepper
• 2 cups of green peas
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 200 ml tomato purée
• bay leaf
• olive oil
• salt and pepper
• 3 teaspoons of baking soda
Sprinkle the beef with baking soda and let it sit for 15 minutes. Slice the meat into strips, season with salt, and sauté in olive oil for 20 minutes. Once cooked, set the meat aside. In the same pan, add finely chopped garlic and red onion, carrots, peas, and bell pepper. Season the vegetables with salt and pepper and sauté for 10 minutes. Return the beef to the pan, and add the bay leaf and tomato purée. Add a little water, cover, and cook over low heat for 40 minutes. Cook the polenta and serve the beef with the vegetable sauce on top.
