Weekend Inspiration: Savory Kadaif

Ingredients:
300 g ground beef
250 g fresh kadaif (kataifi pastry)
125 ml tomato sauce
4 cloves of garlic
20 tablespoons yogurt
15 g butter
olive oil
1 teaspoon cumin
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
6 sprigs of fresh parsley
salt
pepper
Place the ground beef in a bowl and add the cumin, nutmeg, finely chopped parsley, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well, divide the mixture into two parts, and shape them into long sausage-like rolls.
Spread half of the kadaif on your work surface, and keep the rest covered with a damp cloth so it doesn’t dry out. Place one meat sausage on the kadaif and roll it up. Cut the roll into 2 cm wide pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and arrange them on a greased baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 230°C for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix the yogurt and garlic. Melt the butter, add a little olive oil and the tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper and simmer briefly until the sauce comes to a boil.
Serve the baked kadaif with garlic yogurt and warm tomato sauce.
