Moules Marinières – Experience the Charms of France

Ingredients:

Two kilograms of fresh mussels

Two cloves of garlic, finely chopped

One onion, finely chopped

One carrot, peeled and sliced into rounds

Two celery sticks, finely chopped

One glass of white wine (about 250 ml)

One glass of vegetable stock

Two tablespoons of butter

Two tablespoons of olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, finely chopped, for serving

Lemon, sliced into wedges, for serving

Preparation:

Rinse the mussels under cold running water. In a large pot or deep pan, heat the butter and olive oil. Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery, and sauté until softened. Increase the heat and add the white wine to bring to a boil. Pour in the vegetable stock, season with salt and pepper to taste, and let it cook for about 10 minutes. Add the mussels and cook in the covered pot or pan until they open. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and lemon juice for extra flavor and enjoy!
