Pasta with Chicken, Spinach, and Cream Sauce

Another weekend brings fresh inspiration from the heart of the city! Make the most of the upcoming days by preparing a delightful creamy pasta dish with chicken, spinach, and cream sauce. As always, you can find all the ingredients at your Crvena Jabuka Gastro Market Marindvor.


  • 450 g of chicken breast
  • 350 g of pasta
  • 200 g of baby spinach
  • 300 ml of cooking cream
  • 100 g of grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • 2 teaspoons of mustard
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Pasta water
  • Salt and pepper


Start by preparing the pasta. Cook it in boiling salted water according to package instructions. Remember to reserve a little pasta water before draining, as it can be used to adjust the sauce’s consistency.

While the pasta is cooking, prepare the chicken. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized cubes and season them with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned and cooked through. Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a bowl and set it aside.

In the same pan, add the finely chopped garlic and sauté it briefly until fragrant.

Next, pour in the cooking cream, add the mustard, and stir well. Then, add the coarsely grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce and continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce becomes creamy.

Add the baby spinach to the sauce and stir until it wilts.

Return the cooked pasta and the cooked chicken to the pan. Mix everything together and let it simmer for a couple of minutes. If the sauce is too thick, you can add some of the reserved pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.

Season the pasta with salt and pepper to taste, and make sure everything is well combined.

Serve your creamy pasta with chicken, spinach, and cream sauce hot, garnished with additional grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
